Lace briefs, silk-lined bralettes and racy red G-strings: Company unveils new range of lingerie for MEN... but would you let your other half wear them?

An Australian company specialising in ‘elegant lingerie’ for men is having to expand online just to keep up with increased demand for the unorthodox undergarments.

Some of HommeMystere's risqué designs feature pink lace teddy’s, silk lined bralettes and sexy red G-strings. But would many women be happy with their other halves dressing up - or down - in the bedroom?

Lingerie For All: Women, Men, Non Binary & Transgender Lingerie

While their campaign images feature a man wearing the designs playfully posing with a woman many consumers still contend the underwear is targeted to the gay community

Launched back in 2008, the Brisbane-based company started designing men’s lingerie when co-creators Brent and Lara Krause realised there were very few options for men who wanted to buck the ‘tighty-whitey’ cotton jock trend which has long-dominated the male market.

HommeMystere said it wanted to give men, who were previously forced to shop in women's stores, an option to buy sexy underwear that is designed to actually conform to the male shape.

As they focused on creating pieces that look and feel like women’s lingerie, the couple started attracting business from more than 30 countries including Russia, Canada and America – which now makes up 40 per cent of the company’s sales.

While their campaign images feature a man wearing the designs playfully posing with a woman, many consumers still contend the underwear is targeted to the gay community. Despite public opinion the company openly states their product isn’t designed for men with a specific sexual orientation in mind.

‘Our goal has always been to offer an alternative style of underwear for men, based on their physique rather than their sexuality, ’ the company says on its website.

'We are not concerned if you are gay, straight, vegetarian, republican, anglican, martian or any other persuasion. We just design and manufacture attractive luxury underwear for men.'

Mr Krause, a self proclaimed lingerie wearer, describes the guilt many men, who choose to wear lingerie, feel in his blog and said he hopes his company can continue to fight current stereotypes that dictate what men can and can’t wear.

Do Men Actually Like Sexy Lingerie?– Theaugusthouse

Sounds impractically insane? Well, the eyebrow-raising topic is no more impossible. Men have actually crossed barriers to come forward and cherish some lingerie love. Who knew the luxury of sexy satins and fancy laces could embrace the male population as well? Get rid of all the biased thoughts as we learn why a man would actually want to wear a bra.

The world has always stamped garters and babydolls to portray the sexiness of feminine curves, but how does a man manage to show off his steamy side? Simply flaunting those muscular abs isn’t fair at all. After all, those exotic undergarments were begging for a breakthrough. Coming back to our question here, it is absolutely fine for a man to want to wear a woman’s intimates. Cross-dressing is something that is never new to the society and we know that shirts, trousers, and boyshorts have long gone to the female wardrobe. Now, why is it even gross when men do the same? Leaving aside the fetish thoughts, it is truly appreciable for a man to be bold enough in exploring the unexplored.

Today’s fashion industry is something that has done things beyond imagination and introducing lingerie for men is one such creativity, we could say. We could obviously sense what’s running in your mind right now! Yes, the anatomy a man is far different from that of a woman and that is very well taken care of by the designers. Everything from bras, g-strings, and bodysuits are crafted according to a man’s physique where guys can feel more comfortable and needn’t hold back their desire to actually hook on that posh fantasy. Moreover, the sizes are also taken care of.

Men Who Buy Lingerie... A Growing Breed

If you are one among those men who are holding back the urge to actually go ahead and buy a thong panty for yourself, shying away isn’t really going to help you with this one. An Australian brand, Homme Mystere, has gone viral for its out-of-the-box attempt to launch an exclusive line for men’s lingerie and guess what; they even conduct ramps to promote the fact that lingerie and camisoles shouldn’t be monopolized to women. Beyond your personal opinions about the topic, their online store is a must-visit to simply be awed by how much the label has customized their products to suit the tastes of men.

Lingerie

The next time you see your husband trying to impress you with some lingerie, get shocked not. Things are very much normal and it simply means your man is brave and distinct enough to experiment with lingerie in his own terms. So, what’s your take on this one? Leave a comment on what you personally feel about this controversial fashion advancement! It's hard out there for the fashion-forward male. You slog around the city all day in your skin-tight meggings; then when you arrive home looking to get comfortable, the

For relaxing in style is your barely-trendy-anymore and never-sexy pair of Zubaz. Now, thanks to Homme Mystere, the in-the-know sartorialist has a new option for letting loose around the house: Male Lingerie.

The Australian company offers 40 skin-tight products, ranging from male bras ($4 extra if you want them padded!), the Forget-me-not panty, and something called a C-String, which is moderately NFSW, but just imagine the Red Hot Chili Peppers in that photo of them wearing socks and you'll get the basic idea. Homme Mystere will deliver right to your door, or, for the more intrepid male lingerie enthusiast, you might want to venture into the wild to sample the wares.

We called the seller of Homme Mystere nearest to NYC, Studio One Lingerie in Avenel, NJ, to get the full scoop. After listening to fifteen seconds of Luck Be A Lady Tonight, we were on the line with James, a representative for the store—NJ's newest #1 Lingerie Store for Men & Women!! James told us that they picked up the whole entire line, and that we're going to have a huge selection. Their order should arrive next week, so no need to run out the door just yet, fellas!

The company has been around for a few years, but appears to be gaining traction after the following video of their runway show was released last week. Will male lingerie be the next hot fashion trend? Will there be a HommeMystere store in the Bushwick Mall? How slow a summer will it have to be for publisher Jake Dobkin to wear male lingerie in another daring act of stunt journalism? Only time shall tell:
